First Divine Feminine Oracle Deck Reading

First Oracle Reading with the Divine Feminine Oracle featuring Freyja, Teresa of Avila, The Black Madonna, Catherine Laboure, Lakshmi, and Khadijah.
First Reading, Divine Feminine Oracle Deck.

Before diving into my first reading with the DFO deck (pictured above), I want to talk about Khadijah. While I make it very clear that I’m head over heels about the artwork in this deck, this card in particular is at the very top of my favorites. Her pose, her power, her style, her age. It fits so well with her story, but is also a perfect example of what I see in my mind’s eye when I think of an empowered, respected, successful woman. As a woman who not only has her own business, but comes from a line of women who have done the same, I find that Khadijah resonates deeply with me. Meeting her at this time in my life is really magickal, in my eyes, as there are still things I want to achieve professionally, but also desire to start a family of my own. While working on this unboxing post and the previous comparison post, her card was one of the first that stood out to me. She’s hard to miss! In fact, when I would shuffle, select, or arrange the cards, her card kept reappearing.

I honestly didn’t who she was prior to looking her up in the guidebook. It has inspired me to learn more about her though and I wish more people knew of her as I think that would really go far in combating discrimination and stereotypes. This, in and of itself, is one of the prime examples of why I believe in and support a deck like this that seemingly approaches these revered figures with tremendous love and respect.

The Reading

When I first began shuffling, it was a bit awkward as the matte finish of the cards forces a change in how my fingers need to work. Practice makes perfect and as time went on, I found the rhythm. Prior to this, I had cleansed under the moon the scarf you see beneath the cards and then slept with the deck under my pillow. A delightfully clean blend of Rosemary and Spearmint was burning through the evening and as I did this reading.

Impromptu Relationship Reading 24 Jan 2019

This reading actually came out as I was shuffling to clean my cards after finishing up the reading I originally sat down to do. The first out were the King of Cups, Ace of Swords reversed, and King of Pentacles. Oh boy.

I asked for clarity on both Kings. To be fair, I was 90% certain who the Cups was though I do have a couple of Pisces in my life. But the Earth Sign could be so many different people. That’s always been an interesting thing: I draw in (or am attracted to?) a lot of Earth Energy from friends to lovers. Big surprise the Scorpio comes up with the Death Card. I so love Nakisha’s Rabbit Tarot for many reasons, but especially this card. Not going to lie, I had a bit of heartache seeing it and the Eight of Cups together. Sigh. I hear you.

When it comes to readings about love and relationships, I look at tarot reversals with cups as an emptying out of emotions — the person can’t be in denial or keep them contained any longer in contrast to say the Ace of Cups which is positive and jubilant and overflowing happily. In a situation like this where it clearly is in reference to a particular person or energy, I look at this and see an Earth sign with either heavy water placements or presenting as if they are very watery, which may be temporary and only in this situation. I have an ex who is a Taurus Sun with a Scorpio Moon and he is notorious for bottling up his emotions and turning them inward. Could it be him? I wouldn’t be surprised.

Le Regine di Inspirazione

I have forgotten the books I have read and the dinners I have eaten, but they both helped make me.

Beyonce and Lakshmi

I was studying Lakshmi earlier this afternoon as part of a goddess meditation and then happened to see all these posts just now on IG and Twitter. Right down to the red dress with golden thread, Beyonce radiated that energy of abundance and totally embodies that vibe. Even taking into consideration the Lemonade era and the personal growth she shared with us through her music, I think sheโ€™s a great woman to look to for channeling (perhaps unknowingly) the Lakshmi energy โ€“ material and spiritual wealth and liberation.

On a more personal note: the symbolism of Lakshmi and Vishnu in wedding ceremonies and festivities is so beautiful. The story of Sati/Parvati and Shiva is incredibly moving. I connect with those stories for the same reason Isis and Osiris resonate with me as well.

I blame my Venus in Cancer.
